About New York Master Barbers

Gali Khik

Gali Khik opened New York Master Barbers in 2005 and is licensed by New York State as a Master Barber. He has been cutting for more than twenty years. What he names as his own work: fades, scissor cuts, beard sculpting, and traditional straight-razor and hot-towel grooming.

There is a story he tells that says more about how the shop runs than a paragraph about values would. In his words:

"It was a Saturday morning in Franklin Square. I had just come from a close friend's wedding rehearsal. I figured I'd stop by the shop to check in, maybe hang out for an hour. I didn't plan on cutting—just make an appearance in the suit, say hello to the team, then dip out."

"There were no other barbers free. He looked at me and said, 'Gali, can you do me a favor?'"

"So I used what I had, pulled up my sleeves, and gave the man one of the freshest fades I've ever delivered—in dress shoes, tie and all."

"That client came in anxious and left assured—and later texted me to say he got the job."

"We're not just cutting hair. We're helping people show up for the biggest days of their lives."

And the line he puts his name to:

"A haircut should feel like a reset — sharp, confident, and built around you."
