The haircut

Should I bring a photo? It helps more than a description does. Pick one of someone whose hair is like yours rather than one whose hair you wish you had — texture decides how a cut sits more than the picture does.

What if I don't know what to ask for? Start with men's haircut styles: photographs of the cuts we do, the guard numbers behind them, and the sentence to say when you sit down. If you would rather just talk it through, that is what the first two minutes in the chair are for.

Do you do straight razor shaves? Yes — a hot towel shave is $30. Traditional straight-razor and hot-towel grooming is one of Gali's four stated specialties.

What's the difference between a fade and a taper? A fade goes to skin; a taper leaves length at the sideburns and neckline and blends it shorter. Fade haircuts has the rest.

Do you cut children who are nervous? Ask for scissors instead of clippers — for most children it is the noise, not the haircut. Tell us at the door rather than in the chair. Kids haircut.

Can I get just my hairline cleaned up? Yes, that is a shape up haircut at $15, and it is a real standalone service rather than an add-on.
